PSHCE
Personal Development - PSHCE
Intent
It is our intent that the PSHE curriculum will develop children’s confidence and good self-esteem to enable individuals to make the most of their abilities, to recognise their own worth, and to develop positive and fulfilling relationships with other members of the school and the wider community.
Our PSHCE curriculum holds children at its heart, and its cohesive vision helps children understand and value how they fit into and contribute to the world. With strong emphasis on emotional literacy, building resilience and nurturing mental and physical health, Our PSHCE curriculum properly equips schools to deliver engaging and relevant PSHCE within a whole-school approach.
Lessons also include mindfulness allowing children to advance their emotional awareness, concentration and focus.
Implementation
We have a comprehensive programme for primary PSHCE including statutory Relationships and
Health Education, in a spiral, progressive and fully planned scheme of work, giving children relevant learning experiences to help them navigate their world and to develop positive relationships with themselves and others.
Termly units are launched with a whole-school assembly, with each year group studying the same unit at the same time (at their own level), building sequentially through the school year, facilitating whole-school learning themes.
